Experienced Surgical Care for Cats and Dogs

Dr. Hees is experienced in a wide-range of surgical procedures. We will always fully explain your pet’s procedure to you and advise you about any necessary aftercare. As with all of our veterinary services at The Oaks Veterinary Clinic, the cost of your pet’s surgical care will be all-inclusive. Everything your pet requires is built into the price, including our strict safety measures, the procedure itself, and any necessary pain medications.

Safety Comes First

When it comes to surgery, your pet’s safety before, during, and after any procedure is our number one priority. First, we perform pre-anesthesia bloodwork to check for the presence of health conditions that could put your pet at risk. During the surgery, your pet’s vital signs, including blood pressure, oxygen levels, and heart rate, will be monitored by a dedicated technician the entire time. And your pet will receive IV fluids throughout the surgery.

Whenever possible, we use our electrocautery unit to make incisions or to control bleeding during surgery. Electrocautery seals blood vessels and can significantly cut down on tissue damage. And because it controls bleeding, it gives us improved visibility at the surgery site.
